Laurel TV is the City of Laurel, Maryland’s public access cable television station serving the city’s 26,000 residents.  The station airs government meetings and emergency notifications, and also numerous staff-produced programs on health, education, sports, the arts, and neighborhoods.  Laurel TV also airs community event notices.

The motto of Laurel TV is “Turn Your Power On."  It promotes and encourages residents to produce programming about things that matter to them and provides training in various aspects of television production.

Communications Director

Audrey is the Communications Director/Public Information Officer for the City of Laurel and General Manager, with oversight responsibility, for the City's Public Access Television Station, Laurel TV. Joyce Jackson

Assistant Director

Joyce Jackson has been named Assistant Director of the Department of Communications effective July 1, 2016.  An Emmy Award winning Sports Journalist, Joyce will serve as the head of the Department in the Director’s absence and will be the main point of contact with the media and supervise the Passport Office and Front Desk during those times.  Joyce will continue to serve as Media Coordinator for Laurel TV and will be responsible for day to day operations, including technical aspects of field and studio productions, programming, and maintaining station equipment.

Carreen Koubek

Public Information/Social Media Specialist

When Carreen is not posting to Facebook and Twitter or getting information out to the residents of Laurel, she hosts Laurel TV’s “Government To The People” program and assists with Laurel TV field and studio production shoots and other technical aspects of station operations.  She also updates the information on Laurel TV's Community Bulletin Board, so if you have any events or information you would like to have considered, please email her at [email protected].

Edward Thomas

Technical Director

Edward Thomas III has assumed full-time duties as the Technical Director for the Department of Communications.  Ed performs a variety of technical duties for Laurel TV, primarily in the production control room, but also in the studio and in the field; and he will be in charge of maintaining Laurel TV studio and field gear. Contact Ed at [email protected] or by calling 301-725-5300 X 2316.
